With our extensive hands-on experience in managing change to define our “BDTM”, Benefits Driven Transition Management, approach JGA works with you to achieve real value. We use our BDTM and the underlying techniques to evaluate propositions for change, to continually align the strategy and actually deliver the benefits.
The benefits management approach focuses on the realisation of benefits, using objective measures to align processes with ultimate business benefits. Benefit owners are identified and are brought together with a common agenda, ensuring that benefits are realised. JGA can act as programme architects, initiating the change process, empowering key members of your team to act as change agents and enhancing the function of the programme office.
Evaluation Of Propositions
Propositions for change are evaluated and those that make sense to your organisational constituencies can be moved forward in the evaluation process. The various aspects of the proposed change are evaluated and the potential benefits are assessed from the perspective of the business strategy. The perspective of benefit owners is considered and a common agenda for the proposed change develpoped, a key step in the development of the change programme.
Alignment Of Strategy
The oragnsiational strategy can be continually aligned in order to reap the maximum of benefits. Objective measurement of business processes allows correct alignment, so that the business strategy is fully implemented from end-to-end. Through this apporach benefits of the change intiative can actually be delivered. JGA can act as a team of architects, enabling your teams as effective change agents.
Delivery Of Benefits
Many change initiatives fail to deliver the promised benefits, JGA ensures that a sucessful outcome to the change intiative is achieved through our change management approach. The strategy, organisation and benefits are continually aligned with the change initiative. Proposed changes that are deamed to be of value for the change initiative are implimented under continuous review. By so doing, actual benefits can be realised.
Benefit Owners
Early commitment from operational managers is essential for the successful implementation of changes and the consequent realisation of benefits. In addition, the traditional divide between the worlds of the change agents and that of operational managers is bridged by providing all parties a common agenda.
Identification of benefit owners is likely to be an interative process, initially with senior benefit owners, of a similar level to the programme sponsor, being identified and included within a list of benefit owners. The benefit owners will work together in defining the benefit profiles and the benefit network. As the process continues the list of benefit owners will be refined. Other stakeholders, who are not classified as benefit owners, are likely to be identified.
The Programme Office
The programme office has a key role in maintaining a register of the benefit owners and further assisting those benefit owners in monitoring and tracking issues. In additon, the programme office provides management information about benefits to the sponsor and other stakeholders on behalf of the Programme Manager.
